Transportation

Waraseoni is connected by Road Routes through various places like Balaghat, Katangi, Lalbarra, Seoni, Nagpur, Jabalpur, Chhindwara, Bhopal, Indore, Tumsar, Gondia & Bhandara. It is also connected by Rail Route ; It lies in between the Balaghat - Katangi section of S.E.C.R. in which 6 Runs of DEMU Trains are Operated which connects the city to Gondia a Major Station on Mumbai - Howrah Line. The major city nearby Waraseoni is Nagpur which is 145 km away by road. Nearest airport is Nagpur Airport.

City of Freedom Fighters

The city is known as City of Freedom Fighters. Hiralal Tamrakar, Dr Tekchand Jain and Thakur Prasad are amongst the freedom fighters participated in British and Goa freedom fight. Hiralal ji now only alive freedom fighter in Balaghat District. Hiralal Tamrakar was felicitated by the President of India on 9 August 2017 at rashtrapati bhavan. Event was hosted by Ram Nath Kovind. This is the birthplace of the allopathic surgeon Dr Narayan Prasad Tamrakar.

Demographics

As of 2011 India census, Waraseoni had a population of 176,291.There were 87,307 males and 88,984 females. There were 1019 females to that of 1000 males. Waraseoni has an average literacy rate of 80%, which is much higher than the national average of 73%. Male literacy is 87.8% and female literacy is 72.3%. In Waraseoni, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.

The only language spoken is Hindi. Other dialects of Hindi are also spoken in some parts of Waraseoni. Pure Hindi is used in the city area of Waraseoni. People have also started speaking English. However, there is a long way to go. A large number of ladies join English speaking courses. Awareness among the ladies is growing faster than men.

Usage of the Internet has been growing rapidly as most of the teens have started using internet. It is kind of an addiction for them. There is a hope that this may lead to a positive consequence. This may sooner or later bring the technological awareness among the teens in order to develop the city.

  • Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Waraseoni Balaghat Madhya Pradesh. This school is one of 589 schools across the country. It is a co-educational school and affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education. It provides Hostel facility to all students, which is absolutely mandatory.
  • Sardar Patel Knowledge City, Dongariya, Waraseoni Balaghat (M.P.). It consist of 5 separate institutions, Sardar Patel College of Technology(Engineering) ; Sardar Patel Polytechnic College ; Vindhya Siksha Samiti College ; Satya Sai College of Education and Mount Litera Zee school.
  • There are 3 private I.T.I. in Waraseoni, Shree Dutta Sai Pvt I.T.I. Waraseoni ; Samrat Pvt I.T.I. Waraseoni and Shri Kashi Pvt I.T.I. Waraseoni. There is also one mini I.T.I. located in village Wara.
  • Other attractions

    Other attractions include an Ancient Jain temple on old Rampaili road ancient shiv temple on Mandnpur road Waraseoni. Another attraction includes a viaduct called as GotaDol (upon Chandan River) there is a Lord Shiv's Temple of 20th century where people go for picnics. Garra, which falls under Waraseoni Tehsil is an industrial area and it is situated on the banks of Wainganga River along with which there is a botanical garden.
