Zheng Shuang (born 22 August 1991) is a Chinese actress and singer. She rose to fame with her role as Chu Yuxun in Meteor Shower (2009-2010), becoming the youngest actress to be nominated as for Audience's Favorite Actress at the China TV Golden Eagle Award. In 2011, she graduated from the Beijing Film Academy. Following her success in 2015, Zheng is currently one of the highest paid Chinese TV actresses. She was also chosen by Southern Metropolis Daily as one of the "Four Dan actresses of the post-90s Generation" (Chinese: 90后四小花旦), along with Zhou Dongyu, Guan Xiaotong and Yang Zi.

2009–2011: Rising popularity

Zheng Shuang made her debut in Meteor Shower, the Chinese adaptation of Meteor Garden. The drama achieved high ratings, and shot Zheng to fame in China. She also released a single, "Love Waltz" for the OST. She reprised her role in the sequel Meteor Shower II, which surpassed the ratings of its predecessor. Zheng was nominated for the Audience's Favorite Actress award at the 25th China TV Golden Eagle Award, becoming the youngest actress to be nominated.

Zheng then starred in Chen Kaige's fantasy film, Mural, which won her the Best New Actress award at the Hong Kong Film Directors' Guild Award for her performance.

2012–2013: Career slump

Zheng's next few dramas failed to achieve commercial success. She twice portrayed Princess Taiping in historical dramas Secret History of Empress Wu and Secret History of Princess Taiping, and starred in The Queen of SOP 2, the sequel to the 2011 hit drama.

2014–present: Career resurgence

Zheng regained success in the hit xianxia drama Swords of Legends (2014), where she played an adorable fox-turned human. She won the Audience's Favorite Actress award at the 13th Huading Awards.

Zheng then starred in her first period drama, The Cage of Love (2015) penned by famed writer Tong Hua. She won the Best Actress award in the Revolutionary-Era drama category for her performance at the 19th Huading Awards. The same year, she starred alongside Jing Boran in Love Weaves Through a Millennium and joined the travel-reality show Divas Hit the Road. With her high press coverage and successful works, Zheng became one of the highest paid television actresses in the industry and won the Popular Actress award at the 1st China Television Drama Quality Ceremony.

In 2016, Zheng starred in her first Qing-dynasty drama Chronicle of Life, based on the novel Lonely Courtyard in Late Spring by Fei Wo Si Cun. The series topped prime-time ratings during its run. She then co-starred with Yang Yang in Love O2O, based on the novel of the same name by Gu Man. The drama was a hit both domestically and internationally and following its run, Zheng experienced a rise in popularity. She also received attention for her acting performance and chemistry with Yang.

In 2017, Zheng starred alongside Cheney Chen in Rush to the Dead Summer, a youth melodrama adapted from Guo Jingming's novel of the same name. She also co-starred in fantasy-adventure film Wu Kong, her first film in six years.
