Jing Boran (Chinese: 井柏然; pinyin: Jǐng Bórán; born 19 April 1989 in Shenyang, Liaoning) is a Chinese singer and actor who rose to fame after winning first place in the 2007 My Hero contest. Along with third-place winner Fu Xinbo, he then formed a group called BoBo. Since 2008, Jing has participated in various television series and movies. He is best known for his lead roles in the Chinese box office hits Monster Hunt (2015) and Time Raiders (2016).

2007–2008: Beginnings

Jing Boran began his singing career after winning the top prize at the Chinese talent contest My Hero in 2007. He signed a deal with Huayi Brothers and formed a boy band name BoBo with fellow contestant Fu Xinbo. In October 2007, the band released their debut EP, Glory. In 2008, he appeared in a minor unaccredited role in the Chinese film The Equation of Love and Death.
2010–2014: Film debut and rising popularity

Jing then made his film debut in Hot Summer Days (2010), which netted him newcomer awards at the 30th Hong Kong Film Award and the Beijing College Student Film Festival.

In June 2011, after Jing signed a recording deal with Seed Music, he released his eponymous debut solo studio album. The album topped the charts in both mainland China and Taiwan, and he won a Global Chinese Golden Chart Award for Best Newcomer.
Jing then started to focus on his acting career, and featured in many Chinese films including The Bullet Vanishes (2012), The Guillotines (2012), Up in the Wind (2013), and Rise of the Legend (2014).
2015–present: Breakthrough and Mainstream success
Jing first achieved recognition with the road film Lost and Love, where he was nominated as Best Supporting Actor at the 30th Golden Rooster Awards. His popularity continued to rise with his starring role in the television series Love Weaves Through a Millennium and his appearance in the travel-reality show Divas Hit the Road. Jing gained widespread recognition with his performance in the fantasy-comedy film Monster Hunt, which grossed over 1.8 billion yuan to become the second highest grossing film in China.
In 2016, Jing starred in the fantasy-action-adventure film Time Raiders, based on the online novel series Tomb Raiders. The film topped box office charts, and became the only local summer release to surpass CN¥1 billion. He then featured in romance film Love O2O, based on the Chinese novel under the same title, with Angelababy.
In 2017, Jing will star in Lou Ye's upcoming film A Rain Cloud in the Sky.
Ambassadorship
In 2015, Jing became the youth ambassador for the Youth Creativity Entrepreneur awards, established by United Nations Human Settlements Programme.
Personal life
In March 2016, Jing was announced to be in a relationship with actress Ni Ni.
