Early life
Viktoriya was born in Odessa, Ukraine. As a child, Viktoriya interested in graphics and drawings, with seven years of visiting the art lessons. About the career models did not even think. Everything happens by accident. After high school she went to casting models to support a girlfriend but in the end she becomes a model. Her notices director of the international division of L-Models agency Stas Yankelevskiy and invited to Kiev.
Career
In 17 years, signs a contract with a Major modeling agency Management in Paris, where it began a stellar ascent of a young Ukrainian woman. The debut release on the catwalk for Viktoriya's spring show of Issey Miyake in Paris in October 2006 year. Later she accepted a proposal from London, and moved to live and work. In February 2007, for the first time shot for a glossy magazine. It was the Italian Elle. 2008 year became a turning point in the career of Viktoriya. Then she signed a contract with one of the leading modeling agencies Women Management in New York and Milan and, for the first time, has worked with the famous photographer Steven Meisel.
"He is like the godfather for my modeling. I started with him, with a Calvin Klein Jeans campaign (F/W 2008), and after we did two Vogue Italia covers (September 2008 and January 2009) and a lot of campaigns."
She eventually became one of the favorite models of Meisel.
Sasonkina has appeared on the cover of international magazines: Vogue Italia (twice), Spur, PF Magazine (Ukraine), Tush, Marie Claire Italia, Elle (Mexico, Ukraine), L'Officiel (Russia, Ukraine).
Sasonkina has walked the runways for Marc Jacobs, Vivienne Westwood, Bottega Veneta, Missoni, Versace, Phillip Lim, Oscar de la Renta, DKNY, Jason Wu, Prada, Issey Miyake, John Galliano, La Perla, Gianfranco Ferré, Jean Paul Gaultier, Laura Biagiotti, Rodarte, Dior, Michael Kors, Dolce & Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli, Blumarine, Nina Ricci, Anna Sui, Sportmax, Diesel, and Topshop.
She has appeared in advertising campaigns for Prada, Calvin Klein, Yves Saint Laurent, Alberta Ferretti, Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano, Liu Jo, Vince Camuto, Mulberry, Sonia Rykiel, Barneys New York, Nordstrom, Juicy Couture, MAC, and Urban Decay.
Viktoriya currently lives and works in New York City.
