Note : Song "Yaar Hamari Baat Suno (Kishore Kumar)" is hugely based on a Bible passage "Jesus and the woman taken in adultery" found in the Gospel of John 8:7. In this episode, after Jesus has sat down in the temple to teach some of the people, after he spent the previous night at the Mount of Olives, a group of scribes and Pharisees confront Jesus, interrupting his teaching session. They bring in an adulteress, and invite Jesus to pass judgment upon her: should she be stoned, as Moses taught, or not? Jesus first ignores the interruption, and writes on the ground as though he does not hear them. But after the religious leaders continue their challenge, he states , Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her".
The film was isnpired from the English movie Face of a Fugitive, a 1959 movie. Vast changes were made in script of Roti. Later was Roti movie was remade in Telugu as Neram Naadi Kaadu Aakalidi in 1976 starring N.T. Rama Rao.Filmfare Best Editing Award Kamlakar Karkani
