History
Bigger Township was established in 1840. It was named for Samuel Bigger, seventh Governor of Indiana.
Benville Bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.
Geography
According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 30.74 square miles (79.6 km2), of which 30.69 square miles (79.5 km2) (or 99.84%) is land and 0.05 square miles (0.13 km2) (or 0.16%) is water.
