The 2008 Skate Canada International was held at the Scotiabank Place in Ottawa, Ontario from October 30 through November 2, 2008. Organized by Skate Canada, it was the second event of six in the 2008–09 Grand Prix, an international series of senior-level invitational competitions. Medals were awarded in four disciplines – men's singles, ladies' singles, pairs, and ice dancing. Skaters also earned points towards qualifying for the Grand Prix Final.

Schedule
The switch from daylight saving time to standard time was on November 2. Therefore, the events on Friday and Saturday were UTC-4, and the events on Sunday were UTC-5.
Ice dancing
The compulsory dance was the Paso Doble.
