The Paris bid for the 2024 Summer Olympics and Summer Paralympics is an ongoing attempt to bring the 2024 Summer Games to the French capital city. Paris formally announced its intention to bid on 23 June 2015 – the date on which Olympic Day is globally celebrated.

Contents

Paris previously hosted the 1900 Summer Olympics and the 1924 Summer Olympics. If awarded the 2024 Summer Olympics, Paris will become the second city (after London) to host the Olympic games three times. Of note, 2024 marks the 100th anniversary of Paris' 1924 Summer Olympics, as well as the first Olympic Winter Games in Chamonix.

Dates

If Paris should win the bid, the Olympic Games would be organized from 2 August 2024 to 18 August 2024; while the Paralympic Games would be held from 4 September 2024 to 15 September 2024. It would be the second city to host the games three times after London (1908, 1948 and 2012) and sixth hosted games in France, third in summer.
