Géraldine Chauvet is a French operatic mezzo-soprano .She was born in Bayeux and studied music at the University of Tours, initially specialising in flute and piano. She studied singing with Udo Reinmann and later with Grace Bumbry in Salzburg.

  • Madame Chauvet came to the World attention in 2009 , embodying Carmen at the Arena di Verona under the baton of Placido DOMINGO with the Stage Direction of Franco ZEFFIRELLI.

    • Just a couple of years later she made a double explosive debut in USA , at first at the Avery Fisher Hall as Adriano in RIENZI by R.Wagner and six months later at the Metropolitan Opera House (Lincoln Center) as Sesto in La CLEMENZA di TITO by W.A.Mozart , two demanding roles, garnering enormous success . In the meantime she also debuted in the EST : China, Japan, South Korea & Arabian Emirates performing  :

  • SAMSON et DALILA as Dalila, in Seoul , together with José CURA as Samson
  • CARMEN , in Tokyo , together with Placido DOMINGO as Don José, with TV Broadcast, released on DVD
  • IL BARBIERE di SIVIGLIA as Rosina, in Oman at the NATIONAL OPERA
  • IL BARBIERE di SIVIGLIA as Rosina, at the PECHINO NATIONAL OPERA BEIJING
