The 41st Legislative Assembly of Ontario is the current legislature of the government of the province of Ontario, Canada. The membership was set by the 2014 Ontario general election.

It is controlled by a Liberal Party majority. The government is led by Premier Kathleen Wynne.

The Official Opposition is the Progressive Conservative Party led by Patrick Brown, and the third party is the New Democratic Party, led by Andrea Horwath.

Timeline of the 41st Parliament of Ontario

June 12: The Ontario Liberal Party under Kathleen Wynne wins a majority government in the 41st Ontario general election. Progressive Conservative leader Tim Hudak announces his intention to step down following the selection of his successor.

July 2, 2014 : The 41st Parliament of Ontario begin its first session. Jim Wilson becomes Leader of the Opposition after being chosen interim leader of the Progressive Conservatives. Dave Levac, member from Brant was re-elected as the speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario.

July 3, 2014 : David C. Onley addresses the speech from the throne for the last time as Lieutenant Governor of Ontario.

July 24, 2014 : The Liberals pass their May 1st budget in its final reading.

November 20, 2014 : NDP MPP Joe Cimino (Sudbury) resigns for health and family reasons.

February 5, 2015 : Former federal NDP MP Glenn Thibeault, now running as the Liberal candidate wins the by-election to replace Joe Cimino in the riding of Sudbury.

August 1, 2015 : PC MPP Garfield Dunlop (Simcoe North) resigns in order to allow new PC leader Patrick Brown to run for a seat in the legislature.

August 28, 2015 : PC MPP Christine Elliott (Whitby-Oshawa) resigns her seat.

September 3, 2015: In a by-election, PC leader Patrick Brown is elected the MPP for Simcoe North

February 11, 2016: Lorne Coe wins the Whitby-Oshawa by-election holding the seat for the PCs.

March 22, 2016: Bas Balkissoon resigns as the Liberal MPP for Scarborough—Rouge River.

June 21, 2016: Madeleine Meilleur resigns as Liberal MPP for Ottawa—Vanier.

September 1, 2016: PC candidate Raymond Cho is elected in the Scarborough—Rouge River by-election, gaining a seat held by the Liberals.

September 16, 2016: Tim Hudak resigns as PC MPP for Niagara West—Glanbrook.

October 19, 2016: Two provincial by-elections have been called for November 17 to fill vacant seats in the Ottawa-Vanier and Niagara-West Glanbrook ridings.

December 16, 2016: Community Safety and Corrections Minister David Orazietti announces resignation as a Liberal MPP on January 1st, 2017.
