Zo rooms dharam veer singh at db spotlight
ZO Rooms was a budget hotel room aggregator in India. It was initiated by the founders of Zostel (India’s first backpacking hostel chain) Akhil Malik, Dharmveer Singh Chouhan, Paavan Nanda, Tarun Tiwari, Chetan Singh Chauhan, Abhishek Bhutra and Siddharth Janghu in 2014. It was acquired by Oyo rooms in an all-stock deal in December 2015. In a short span of time, ZO Rooms had a presence in cities like Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Mumbai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Goa, Pune, Jodhpur, Chandigarh etc.

History
Zostel Hospitality Pvt. Ltd was established in August 2013 by seven co-founders Akhil Malik, Dharmveer Singh Chouhan, Paavan Nanda & Tarun Tiwari alumni of Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, Chetan Singh Chauhan & Abhishek Bhutra alumni of Indian Institute of Technology, BHU and Siddharth Janghu alumnus of MDI Gurgaon. The founders of Zostel further dived into a new project known as ZO Rooms in November 2014, which is a low-budget, technology-driven hotel chain. Almost a year old, ZO Rooms owns more than 200 hotels across 11 cities and by the end of 2015 the company plans to have 1000 plus hotels across 50 cities.
De-listed By Online Travel Agencies
Online travel agencies like Make My Trip, Goibibo, Yatra, Stay Zilla blocked ZO Rooms along with Oyo Rooms in order to protect market share. In a recent interview with The Times Of India, ZO Rooms co-founder Paavan Nanda said its' not a shocking transition as it was already expected.
