Wayne Garvie (born 9 September 1963) is Chief Creative Officer, International Production at Sony Pictures TV.

Life
Garvie attended Woodbridge School, Suffolk, England, and subsequently the University of Kent and the University of Sheffield. He received his BA degree in History and Ph.D. degree in Economic and Social History. Prior to taking up role at Sony, Garvie was Managing Director of International Production at All3Media between January 2011 and May 2012, and Managing Director of BBC Worldwide Content and Production between January 2006 and September 2010. During this time he was responsible for overseeing the content and production division, leading the international production and format business for the corporation's commercial arm.
Garvie was responsible for developing Strictly Come Dancing, and the popular US version Dancing With The Stars.
In addition to this, he also helped set up new UK producers such as Left Bank Pictures and Cliffhanger, and has invested in existing companies such as Baby Cow, Big Talk, Clerkenwell and Hardy Pictures.
Garvie left the BBC after more than a decade. He joined the corporation as BBC Manchester head of entertainment and features from Granada in 1998. Three years later he became the London-based head of the BBC entertainment group.
