During the occupation of Greece in World War II, 15 prostitutes from Athens, Greece, are taken to Albania to boost the morale of occupying Italian soldiers. Along for the ride are Sgt. Castagnoli (Mario Adorf), the affable truck driver, and Lt. Martino (Thomas Milian), who initially finds the mission degrading, but eventually forms a rapport with the women. Complications arise when Martino falls for one of the prostitutes, Elenitza (Anna Karina), and the group faces a dangerous attack.

The Camp Followers (Italian: ), is a 1965 Italian World War II film directed by Valerio Zurlini and starring Anna Karina. The film is about a Lieutenant and his men who are assigned to lead a group of prostitutes through the mountainous ways to serve in brothels for Italian soldiers in Albania. The film was entered into the 4th Moscow International Film Festival where it won the Special Silver Prize.
