Strathfield Plaza is a shopping centre in Strathfield in the Inner West of Sydney, Australia. The centre is located on Churchill Avenue opposite the Strathfield Railway Station and is the largest shopping complex in the Strathfield Town Centre.

History

Strathfield Plaza opened in 1981 and consists of a nine level commercial office tower, a single storey retail shopping centre along with a two level car park. The Plaza was the location of a mass shooting on 17 August 1991 known as the Strathfield massacre. The incident left eight dead and six wounded.

Major tenants

The shopping centre consists of major retailers such as Woolworths, St.George Bank, Australia Post.

Access and transport

Strathfield railway station is located next to Strathfield Plaza and is a major interchange station on the Sydney Trains network and is also a stop for trains on the NSW TrainLink network.

Events

Strathfield Plaza is a major sponsor for local events such as The Annual Inner-West Local Business Awards and also participates in Strathfield Council's Spring Food Festival and Movies in the Park
