Career
Chakraborty's debut was in a Bengali film called Anubhab, where he played the lead role. He became a household name in Bengal when he played the character of Gansha in the widely acclaimed tele serial Bibaho Abhijan. Over the years he has appeared in various Bengali films and serials, including Asukh (1999), Uttara (2000), Cancer (2000), Dosar (2006), and Khela (2008). He and his wife, Sonali Chakraborty, appeared together in a game show called Barishaler Bor Aar Kolkatar Kone which ran for 6 years on Etv Bangla and was immensely popular. He is currently working in television shows such as Ishti kutum, Keya patar nouko, Chokher tara tui, and Janani, which are telecast on popular Bengali channels. His films Achena Batash, by Anjan Das, and Buno Hash, by Aniruddh Roy Chowdhury, were released in 2014.
