Saul Shane Armstrong (born July 28, 1963), known professionally as Shane Diesel, is an American photographer, director and former pornographic actor.

Early life
Diesel was born in Las Vegas, Nevada and moved to Boston, Massachusetts at the age 10. Diesel went on to graduate from high school in Boston in 1981 and joined the Navy for three years, serving with PATRON (Patrol Squadron) FOUR SEVEN (VP-47) of NAS Moffett Field in Mountain View, CA as a Petty Officer Third Class Aviation Store Keeper (AK3) until his honorable discharge.
Career
After being honorably discharged from the Navy, Diesel moved from California to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1984, at age 21 in pursuit of a career in Culinary art, in 1986, Diesel started working at Geno's Steaks.
In February 1992, at age 28, he began posing solo for several magazines. He had an opportunity to do porn at this time, but he refrained because his parents "were still alive, and it didn't seem right", according to him. He later moved to New York City in 1998, working at Katz's Delicatessen.
In April 2002, he moved to Los Angeles, California to begin his main venture into pornography at the age of 38. Diesel says he was fortunate to start porn at age 38 because porn at a young age "can really screw you up". He kept his middle name Shane and he picked the name Diesel after a porn worker told him that he resembles, in many physical aspects, Vin Diesel.
Diesel signed an exclusive performing contract with Digital Sin in 2007 and he eventually became known for his role as Blackzilla in several series produced by Hush Hush Entertainment.
In January 2008, looking to pursue a career in commercial photography, he quit his job as a pornography actor. Diesel later moved back to New York City in April 2008, so he could become a commercial photography .

Diesel was first married to his high school girlfriend Jane Maddok in 1984 and had a child together in 1985, before divorcing in 2005, as Shane caught Maddok cheating on him with their neighbor. Shane later married Czech pornstar Jana Romančáková, alias Jessica Dee, who died on June 29, 2012 in a car crash in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. Diesel politically identifies as Libertarian
Despite the racial themes in his works, Diesel maintains that he dates "all types of women" in his personal life. He says he judges "by charm, personality, and of course sexuality". The racial themes, he says, are simply the result of consumer demand; it is what people want to see.
In 2014, Diesel disclosed the existence of a 29-year-old son, who was unaware of his father's involvement in the adult film industry until the age of 24. When his son expressed an interest in meeting some of the women from the industry, Diesel declined, preferring to shield him from the challenging personalities he encounters professionally.
