There are also some Portuguese from Goa who discovered limestone and later on became very successful manufacturers of lime (calcium). These Goan people were Jerome de Costa, Libano Figueiredo, Alick Rebello, Joaquin Stevens, Jose Brito and Ludzero Brito. Of these, Mr. Ludzero Brito was the sarpanch of the Village of Wanjri and was also the President of the Lime Manufacturers Association of Rajur for 50 long years until his death. In the year 1983 Sergio Brito, son of Jose Brito and nephew of Ludzero Brito constructed his own factory for the manufacturing of lime. He ran the factory for 10 years until 1993 and then the demand for lime was on the decline. Having realized that, there was no scope for lime manufacturers and being a new establishment was already feeling the pinch and could no longer run it profitably and Sergio sold it.
