This village is situated at National Highway 28, 4 km distance from Fazilnagar and Bihar State (Samaur Bazar) is 9 km away from the village. History
Patherwa Thana was established by the British Government. The history of Patherwa is quite old and it starts from Late Shri Tapeswari lal Srivastava (Munshiji). He was the person who formed a sena to fight against white people. Still some of the part of the Sena people are alive like Brijlal yadav, Chandradev yadav of Basantpur and they will describe the planning of Munshiji that is how to fight with white people. This is a secret history of Patherwa. Munshiji was the first government Head master of Patherwa. Few of his student are alive and they will be telling the way of teaching and strict behaviour. He meticulously planned Patherwa village development at that time and even started tent and light business so that people could be employed. He founded the stone temple of Durga mata near Banjarhi tola.
