Geography

Panchghara is located at 22°44′08″N 88°16′03″E . It is located in the Chanditall–II community development block under the Srirampore subdivision of the Hooghly district.Chanditala police station serves this town.

Demographics

As per 2011 Census of India Panchghara had a total population of 8,428 of which 4,168 (49%) were males and 4,260 (51%) were females. Population below 6 years was 916. The total number of literates in Panchghara was 5,810 (77.34 % of the population over 6 years).
