History

Padmalaya also known, as "Prabhakshetra" is a religious place. It is famous for the temples of Lord Ganapati and Hanuman. According to legend, the warrior Bhim has had a battle with Rakshas Bakasur and Bakasur was killed by Bhim. Bhim was very thirsty after the wrestling so he had hit his elbow very forcefully on the ground to form a small pond of fresh water. The place is called bhimkund and is near to the Padmalaya temple. Bhimkund is a very beautiful place with lots of herbs and medicinal plants around the vicinity of Padmalaya Temple Reservoir.

Pandav

The vanavas pandavs stayed in Erandol (ancient name was Ekchakranagari). They built a palace with Lacquer. This is called as Pandav wada and believed it has many secret routes leading to nearby forests. This Pandav wada was later burnt by kaurav to kill Pandavs. The remaining are still lying there in erandol city.
