    Around the movie

    On Thursday, 21 April 1977, that is approximately 7 weeks (48 days exactly) after NAVARATHINAM 's release, A.P. Nagarajan the director-producer dies from a heart attack.

    It was necessary question to make another movie.

    MGR wanted to catch of this disappointment, not to stay on a failure with A.P. Nagarajan.

    MGR, through the magnificent voice of K. J. Yesudas, sings a nice song with a Hindi text drafted by P.L.Santoshi, with the music composed by Kunnakudi Vaidyanathan.

    P.L.Santoshi (Pyare Lal Santoshi), a lyricist, a film director and a story/screenplay writer, very occasional actor – a versatile personality by all accounts, was born on 7 August 1916 in Jabalpur, M.P as Pyarelal Shrivastav in a school headmaster’s house. He spent his last days on dialysis due to kidney failure and breathed his last on 7 September 1978 due to heart failure.
