Career
As a classically trained composer, she won prizes such as for ‘Best Piece’ in the Young Composers Meeting competition in Appeldoorn, Netherlands. She was chosen to represent Netherlands for the Berlin International Film Festival in the Berlinale Talent Campus as a Film Composer.
Maya composed several music for film and ads. She is signed to Sony Music and her debut pop single, This Ain't The End was aired on MTV and first premiered with the movie, The Rift. This song was also thought to be in the final episode (episode 16) of season 6 of The Walking Dead to be aired on April 3, 2016 but the artist denied that on her YouTube video. That did not stop blogs conjecturing on the meaning of the words to spell the possible death of characters Daryl or Glenn.
Maya Lavelle's cites her influences as pop, electronic and classical music. She studied Composition at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. She funded herself until now through writing music for film and advertising, teaching piano, and as an artist for MEMO to stimulate cognitive development in children through music.
