Maia Damianovic (born in England), grew up in the United States. Attended the University of Toronto, Ecole Nationale Superior des Beaux Arts, Ecole du Louvre and the Sorbonne, Paris, France.

Written numerous art critical texts, magazine articles, exhibition catalogues, artist monograms and art reviews.

Independent curator of a number of large-scale projects: The Invisible Touch, Kunstraum Innsbruck; Days of Hope, Frame Programme 49th Venice Biennale; To Actuality, ARGEKUNST, Bolzano, Italy: Enactments of the Self, steirischer herbst art festival: Reality 10’55”, Odense, Kunsthallen Brandts Klaedefabrik, Odense, Denmark; future systems: rare momente, Lentos Museum of Contemporary Art, Linz, Austria.

Customarily her projects are presented in public and off-site locations. Specialized in situational and performative interactions, and enactments.

Works as architectural designer for futuresystemsprojects, which she co-founded with Andy Robinson in 2007.

Radical Busts

March through April 2015, she curated “Radical Busts” - a cultural highlight within the Gender Equality section of the 650th Jubilee of the University of Vienna, which presented 36 busts of significant women from Antiquity through Modernism.
