Magandang Buhay (Lit. Good Life) is a Philippine morning television talk show broadcast by ABS-CBN, hosted by Karla Estrada, Melai Cantiveros-Francisco and Jolina Magdangal-Escueta. The talk show premiered on April 18, 2016 and currently airs every weekday mornings from 8:00am-9:30am, right after Umagang Kay Ganda. It also airs worldwide via The Filipino Channel.
The title of the show is inspired from the popular line of the same name from the telenovela, Dream Dad.
Magandang Buhay Wikipedia
Magandang Buhay debuted in its initial timeslot at 7:30am-9:00am from April 18, 2016 to June 17, 2016. It served as the replacement of Kris TV, where Estrada, Cantiveros and Magdangal were previously guest co-hosts for the now-defunct talk show hosted by Kris Aquino. The three hosts were also former contestants in the first season of Your Face Sounds Familiar.
ABS-CBN aired a teaser for the season three of Kuroko's Basketball which was originally supposed to premiere on June 21, 2016. However, the anime was later permanently shelved by the management in favor of Kapamilya Blockbusters non-anime movie filler block. The 9:00am timeslot, previously occupied by the season eight of Naruto Shippuden anime which ended on June 16, 2016, has been given to Umagang Kay Ganda and expanded into 3 hours starting June 20, 2016, which coincidentally allowed Game 7 of the NBA Finals to be broadcast live on that day. By June 21, Magandang Buhay began airing on their new timeslot, with a tagline "8:00am is Magandang Buhay time."
Magandang Buhay's new timeslot was affected by ABS-CBN Regional TV stations in some provinces due to the episode being recorded and aired on a one-day delay. ABS-CBN Regional stations would abruptly cut the final 30 minutes of this show to insert a Kapamilya Gold program, which is pre-empted by localized versions of TV Patrol Regional (at the latter's original timeslot of 5:00pm). Later on, the final 30 minute portion of this talk show was eventually transferred to the KB filler block, which now airs at 10:00am in these affected areas.Karla Estrada
The show gave rise to the term Momshie which was introduced as a term of endearment of the three hosts. It later became a popular nickname used as a term of endearment, and other people uses its variation "Momshie" for girls and "Popshie" for boys.
