Traction
As the route is yet to be fully electrified, a Ghaziabad or Kanpur based WAP 4 locomotive [2] [3] hauls the trains from Anand Vihar Terminal up to Allahabad Junction hanging over to a Samastipur or Jhansi based WDM 3A [4] which then hauls the train for the remainder of its journey.

Accident
In an accident due to dense fog on 2 January 2010, the Lichchavi Express collided with the stationary Magadh Express train at the station near the town of Etawah, about 170 miles (270 kilometers) southwest of Lucknow. Ten people, including the driver of one of the trains, were injured.
