Plot

To inherit, Rani (Jayalalitha) a charming birdbrain has to marry in the urgency.

She chooses a person sentenced to death, nice Vélaiya (MGR).

Acquitted at the last minute, Vélaiya comes to settle down at its beautiful Rani.

He is decided well to him given a lesson onto the hardness of the life...

Around the movie

The " Puratchi Nadhigar " MGR which is the author of the story of KANAVAN, was inspired by two narratives – the Russian novel Woodcutter and the English play The Taming of the Shrew by William Shakespeare.
