    Early History

    It is said that the villages of Kahna Dhesian ( ਕਾਹਨਾ ਢੇਸੀਆਂ ) and Sang Dhesian ( ਸੰਗ ਢੇਸੀਆਂ ) were settled by members of the same family. Accordingly, the villages share the Dhesi (ਢੇਸੀ ) surname. It is believed that Kahna Dhesian was settled over 600 years ago. it is learnt that Bhai kahna and Bhai Sang of Dhesian clan were brothers and spiritual gaints. on refusal of Guru Arjan Dev to enter words of Bhai Kahna to Shri Guru Granth Sahib being unsuitable, he is said to have fallen from grace and requested his Brother Bhai Sang for reconciliation with Guru Ji.

    The nearest station to Dhesian Kahna is Goraya Railway Station, situated on the main line between Delhi and Amritsar. For further connections to longer distance services including to the union capital, Delhi, one can travel either to Phagwara or Ludhiana and change for longer distance services.
