Death
Buencamino was found hanging from a nylon rope in her bathroom by her family's household help at around 8:20 pm on Tuesday, July 7, 2015. Her brother, Gregorio, rushed her to the Cardinal Santos Medical Center in San Juan City. At 8:46 pm, she was declared dead on arrival. Buencamino's father insisted that the police halt their investigations towards her death, as he was convinced that the cause of death was suicide. Her remains were transferred to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Shrine at New Manila, Quezon City. On her suicide note, posted on Tumblr a few days later, Buencamino revealed that she was a panromantic demisexual at the time of her death and had selected Lee as her gender-neutral name as she also identified as gender-neutral.
