Dore appeared as a frequent guest host on Current TV's political commentary show The Young Turks with Cenk Uygur. He now appears on the web series The Young Turks, as well as hosting The Jimmy Dore Show, a political commentary series under the TYT banner with over 250,000 subscribers.

Dore was supportive of the Bernie Sanders campaign in the 2016 Democratic Party presidential primaries, being called "Sanders-obsessed" by The Washington Post. He was critical of Senator Elizabeth Warren for not defending Sanders in the primaries. In April 2016, Tommy Christopher of The Daily Banter accused Dore of calling Hillary Clinton a "fascist", and further criticised Dore for theorizing that a Donald Trump victory would benefit progressives. Dore argued that a Trump presidency would be beneficial to progressives because it would fracture the GOP. He has also said that emails published by WikiLeaks indicated that, if elected, Clinton would ratify the TPP and possibly the TTIP.

"Given her record of bloodlust warhawkism, there is good reason to be more afraid of Hillary Clinton than Donald Trump."

"You do not owe her your vote. Hillary Clinton is not the Democratic Party -- You are the Democratic party. You do not owe anybody your vote. She has got to earn your vote . . . We're not letting neoliberals fuck over the Democratic Party anymore."

Since the 2016 presidential election, "Jimmy Dore has lit into Democrats for blaming hackers for their loss, raised doubts about the credibility of intelligence agencies, and seen the heavy hand of war hawks hyping the Russia connection to destabilize Europe and the Middle East," according to the Washington Post. Since Trump's inauguration, Dore "has zeroed in on corporate media and the hypocrisies of Democrats, rather than taking on Trump," according to Truthdig.
