"It Might Be You" is a song with music written by Dave Grusin, and lyrics written by Alan & Marilyn Bergman. It was performed by singer/songwriter Stephen Bishop in the 1982 film, Tootsie, starring Dustin Hoffman and Jessica Lange. The song was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1983.

Bishop's recording peaked at No. 25 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on April 30, 1983, and spent eight weeks in the Top 40. It also spent two weeks at No. 1 on the U.S. adult contemporary chart in April the same year.

  • The song has been covered by Filipino singer Martin Nievera.
  • Filipino American band Kai covered the song in 2000.
  • Filipino singer Erik Santos also revived and covered the song as a duet with Marinel Santos in 2003 and it was used as the theme song of the Philippine drama series, It Might Be You.
  • Filipina singer Jonalyn Viray covered the song in the first season of Pinoy Pop Superstar, earning the title of its First Grand Champion.
  • In 2006, Thai singer Ann Thitima recorded "It Might Be You".
  • In 2007, musician Dave Koz recorded two versions of the song for his album At the Movies. The first version featured vocals by India.Arie, while the second was performed as an instrumental along with guitarist Peter White.
  • Filipino rock band The Ambassadors also covered the song, as a pop punk version.
  • In 2010, the song was covered by British musician Rumer on the deluxe version of her album Seasons of My Soul.
  • In 2013, the song was covered in a live performance on YouTube by musicians Julian Velard and Ari Hest as part of their duo cover band known as the Jewbadours, albeit with several incorrect lyrics.
  • In 2013, the song appeared over the closing credits of the film "The Pretty One", covered by K A R Y Y N and Julian Wass. "The Pretty One" shares with "Tootsie" the theme of a person assuming a different identity.
  • Daniel Padilla covered the song in 2014 for his album I Heart You.
  • In 2015, Bradford Anderson performed the song as part of ABC's daytime soap opera General Hospital. The performance took place during the Nurses' Ball, a special storyline arc written each year to promote HIV/AIDS awareness & fundraising. As Damien Spinelli, Anderson took the stage took the stage singing towards one of Spinelli's love interests.
  • In October 2015, Filipino singer and actor Michael Pangilinan covered the song and it was used as the theme song of the movie Everyday I Love You.
