Hortelã, also known as Hortelão is a settlement in the western part of the island of São Nicolau, Cape Verde. Its 2010 poplulation was 181. It is situated at the southern foot of Monte Gordo, 5 km north of Tarrafal de São Nicolau and 6 km west of Ribeira Brava. Nearby place inclues Cachaço to the northeast, Palhal to the east whose boundary is 100 meters immediately to the east, Tarrafal de São Nicolau to the south and Ribeira dos Calhaus to the northwest.

Hundreds of meters to the north is the park boundary with Monte Gordo Natural Park, within the summit is the municipal boundary with Ribeira Brava.
