Diane Delano Self
Diane Delano (born January 29, 1957) is an American character actress. She is known for her numerous roles in films and television, such as Sergeant Barbara Semanski on the CBS television series Northern Exposure and Roberta 'Bobbi' Glass on The WB television series Popular.

Early life

Diane Delano is a Huguenot, as a great grand daughter of Huguenot Philip Delano, nephew of Mayflower Passenger Francis Cooke and his wife Hester Mahieu-Cooke the first female Huguenot in the New Plymouth Colony 1622. Hester was traveling with her sister Jean's son. The young Phillip Delano (De La Noye), Phillip was the first Huguenot male to come to the new Colony. 1637 Phillip Delano received a land grant from the court of Plymouth colony for activities as a purchaser to help pay the Kings debt owed by the Plymouth colonist. Sara Delano mother of Franklin Delano Roosevelt is of the same family, a grand aunt to Diane. Diane Delano was born on January 29, 1957 in Los Angeles, California.
Career

Delano's best known roles may be Bobbi Glass and her twin sister Nurse Jessi Glass in Popular and the recurring character Barbara Semanski in Northern Exposure. She recently played the role of Hilda, an FBI agent hired to protect Sami Brady, on Days of Our Lives. She also recently provided the voice for Big Barda in Batman: The Brave and the Bold. Prior to this, she had voiced the superheroine Pantha in Teen Titans.
