In mumbai artist hema upadhyay s murder husband chintan upadhyay arrested
Chintan Upadhyay (born 1972) is an Indian contemporary artist. He was awarded the Charles Wallace Foundation Award for Residency in Bristol, UK in 2012. The artist began as a painter, but now creates sculptures and installations which he paints the surface. His most popular sculpture project is perhaps the Pet Shop project, which is an ongoing production of a "model baby" for every season, Baby fetish.
He also runs Sandarbh, a nonprofit organization set up for residencies, workshops, and programs, and dedicated to promoting the arts and raising awareness about contemporary artistic practices in rural areas of India. It is a radical experiment that brings artists from India and the world to a small village called Partapur, Rajasthan. They live and engage with the local community there through the means of art.

Early life
Chintan was born in 1972 in Partapur, Rajasthan, India, and did BFA Painting Faculty of Fine Arts from M.S. University, Gujarat, India in 1995 and MFA Painting Faculty of Fine Arts from M.S. University, Gujarat, India in 1997.
The Mutants 2006
This show representing a series of works was a turning point in the career of Chintan Upadhyay. The show titled Mutants was held at Sarjan Art Gallery, Baroda in 2006. The Mutants included many fiber glass sculptures that were painted with enamel. They were smaller than life size. Against the backdrop of mirrors on the walls, the mutants mirrored infinitely, thus occupying an army like position in the endless spaces. The artist wanted to drive the point that the scientific experiments in the areas of cloning and genetics might lead to disastrous results in the future. The sculptures belong to the larger series of works called the "Designer Babies"; they remind us of our hidden desire as parents to design our babies in the physical and intellectual traits of what we want. The desire is harmless today, but if the technology and bio-engineering is going to make it possible in the future, then some miscreants may create most undesirable situations.
Accused in Double Murder
Chintan Upadhyay is accused and arrested in connection with the double murder of his estranged wife Hema Upadhyay and her lawyer Haresh Bhambhani on December 22, 2015.
