Demographics

As of 2010 India census, Chamakeri had a population of 2,500 with 1300 males and 1200 females.

Shri Sadashiva Mutt, Sukshetra Chamakeri

It is one of Hindu pilgrim in northern district of karnataka. Shree Guru Chakravarti Sadashiv Murthy (Muthya) of Babaladi village in Bijapur district had a mutt in Chamakeri. It is one of Babaladi mutt among other.every year in akshatadigi amavasya celebrating yatra mahotsava. yatra celebrated 5 days... and also cattle fair in yatra.

Agriculture

Total land of village having more than 80% of well fertile and cropping area. They grow mainly sugar cane, grape, maize, sorghum and a small area of lemon, onion, turmeric etc. Irrigation is mainly based upon water canals, bore wells and wells.

Transportation

Chamakeri is directly connected to taluk headquarters Athani and also Bijapur - Athani State Highway.

Education

In village there is a Govt Higher Primary School (HPS, Chamakeri) has currently working with 1st to 7th standard having more than 500 students. The Govt Marathi Higher Primary School is also working in village.And private aided Primary and HighSchool run by Shri Sadashiv Mutt. viz, Shivayya Swamiji Primary and High School, Chamakeri. Hostel and Orphange is also run by Mutt. The whole village has more than 65% of literacy rate.

Festivals

The villagers mainly celebrate Shri Sadashiv Jatra Mohostava and also Kara Hunnume, Nagara Panchami, Deepavli, Ugadi and Dassara in every year.
