The Canadian Comedy Awards (CCA) is an annual ceremony that celebrates achievements in Canadian comedy in Live Performances, Radio, Film, Television and Internet media. The awards were founded and produced by Tim Progosh in 2000. The inaugural show was broadcast on The Comedy Network.

Until 2002, CCA was held in Toronto, and from 2003 to 2007 they were held in London, Ontario in conjunction with an annual comedy festival known as Comedy Week. In 2008, they moved to Regina, Saskatchewan, then in 2009 to Saint John, New Brunswick. From 2010 to 2012 they returned to Toronto, and in 2013 and 2014 moved to Ottawa, Ontario. In 2015 CCA moved back to Toronto.
Past hosts include the Royal Canadian Air Farce, Scott Thompson (of The Kids in the Hall), Dave Thomas, Brent Butt, David Foley and Bruce Hunter (as Rocko the Dog, the character he played on Puppets Who Kill ).
The 2000 and 2001 awards were produced and aired on The Comedy Network by Higher Ground Productions. The 2001 CCA special received a Gemini nomination for writing. Annual CCA variety specials were broadcast on television from 2007-2010. The Doo Wops received a Gemini nomination for their performance in the 2008 special and the 2009 special, co-produced by Higher Ground Productions and Mind's Eye.
The CCA are currently produced by The Canadian Comedy Foundation for Excellence .

The 8th Annual Canadian Comedy Awards were held at the London Music Hall in London, Ontario on October 12, 2007 as part of the Canadian Comedy Awards & Festival which ran from October 10–13, 2007. It marked the 5th straight year that the awards ceremony was held in London.

The 9th Annual Canadian Comedy Awards & Festival were held from October 1–5, 2008 at Casino Regina in Regina, Saskatchewan. 2008 was the first year the awards were held outside of Ontario. Previous Canadian Comedy Awards ceremonies took place in Toronto (2000–2002) before moving to London, Ontario (2003–2007). Nominations were announced at an industry luncheon at The Second City in Toronto on June 3, 2008 and the awards presentation ceremony took place on the evening of Friday, October 3, 2008 at Casino Regina, hosted by Alan Park with presenters including Dave Foley and Mike Wilmot. Nominations for the 2009 Canadian Comedy Awards closed April 30, 2009. They have announced that the awards will be held in Saint John, New Brunswick this year, from October 1–4. This is the first time the awards have been held in Eastern Canada. Nominations were announced on the CCA website on the morning of Monday, July 6, in videos hosted by Nikki Payne and Pat Thornton.
