Demographics

Retrieved 2008-11-01.  Bommasandra had a population of 7 570. Males constitute 58% of the population and females 42%. Bommasandra has an average literacy rate of 72%, higher than the national average of 59.5%, with male literacy of 80% and female literacy of 61%. 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.

All the buses to Attibele and Hosur pass through Bommasandra and almost every bus stops here since it is an industrial area.

Major industries located in this area are Continental Automotive Components (India) Pvt. Limited Continental AG, Biocon, Titan Industries Limited's - Precision Engineering Division (PED), Shetron & SKF India etc.

The Narayana Hrudayalaya Hospital (Health city) and the Jigani Industrial Area are very near from Bommasandra. Electronic city, which is Bangalore's major IT hub, is located just 2 km from Bommasandra. Bommasandra - Jigani Link road has witnessed a major real estate development in recent years. Many residential layouts and apartments have come up in this area. Bommasandra was also called as "Kelaginahalli" in Kannada and "Diguvapalli" in Telugu later renamed as Bommasandra. Most of the residents are bilingual and are fluent in Kannada and Telugu.

Vidhya nagar is also part of bommasandra, its know for temple of lord ganesh
