Bhattanagar is a town in Liluah, West Bengal, India. It is approximately 3 km from Liluah railway station, 7 km from Howrah and 8 km from Kolkata.

It is mainly famous for the rich culture and friendly neighbourhood. There are coconut trees and ponds near Tripura Road. The atmosphere is very eco-friendly and pollution-free.

One of the oldest schools of Howrah district, Bhattanagar kulakamini vidyamandir, is located here. Don Bosco Self Employment Research Institute and being the headquarters of the Cooperative bank of Bhattanagar, Liluah, Bamungachi and Belgachia. There is a branch of the State Bank Of India in Bhattanagar.

Transport

Bhattanagar also has a railway station for freight trains. There is a bus (Route No 39) from Bhattanagar to Esplanade and apart from that there is also another CTC bus route which runs from Bhattanagar to Salt Lake. The nearest railway station is Liluah, which is approx 2.5 km from the town.

Culture and sports

Surya Sangha, Netaji Sangha, athletics club, sporting club and more clubs are famous for their sporting activities. Also for their religious view, they organise award-winning Durga puja every year. Every year, a general fair (Basanti Pujor Mela) is organised in Bhattanagar at Bhattanagar Football Play Ground situated at the center of the town. Bhattanagar Jogeshwari math One of the Important monastery of Belur Math.
