Arifin Shuvo (Bengali: আরিফিন শুভ; pronunciation : [ariˈfiːn ˈshuːvo]; born Arefin Shuvo; 2 February 1982), is a Bangladeshi film actor and television personality. He is a recipient of several awards and nominations, including two Meril Prothom Alo Awards.

Shuvo made his debut in 2007, appearing in television series Ha/Na before appearing in his first film Jaago - Dare To Dream (2010). He made a debut into mainstream cinema with Purno Doirgho Prem Kahini (2013). His role was appreciated by both audiences and critics. For his negative role in the film, He received nomination in Best Villain category at Meril Prothom Alo Awards. He later went on to star in Bhalobasha Zindabad (2013) and romantic action film Agnee (2014). In 2015, his performance in Chuye Dile Mon has brought first time Meril Prothom Alo Awards in Public category for himself. He starred in Musafir in 2016

Biography

Shuvo started his career by appearing in television commercials prior to landing recurring roles in TV series such as Ha/Na (2007) and Iz Equal Two (2008). His film career started with the sports based film Jaago - Dare To Dream (2010), and he got his breakthrough in his second film Purnodoirgho Prem Kahini (2013), where he played the antagonist. In 2014, Shuvoo starred in Agnee which became the highest grossing Bangladeshi film of all time. Shuvoo has received critical acclaim for his work in films as Jaago - Dare To Dream, and Taarkata (2013). He successfully worked on Chuye Dile Mon and Warning.
2007–2009: Television

Shuvo made his acting debut in 2007, with appearance in Mostofa Sarwar Farooki's television series Ha/Na, He portrayed a small role in the television series before featuring in Serious Ekta Kotha Ache alongside Mosharraf Karim. His performance was praised by Critics. Shuvoo stayed in Television until 2009 before starring in his debut Film Jaago - Dare To Dream.
2009–2013: Debut and breakthrough

Shuvo made his film debut in 2010, with Khijir Hayat Khan's sports drama film Jaago - Dare To Dream, Co-starring alongside Ferdous Ahmed and Afsana Ara Bindu, although the film was a commercial failure, Shuvoo's performance was appreciated by critics and audiences. Shuvoo made a breakthrough by starring in Shafi Uddin's Purno Doirgho Prem Kahini; where he played a role of an antagonist. The film was a huge success commercially and his performance was highly praised by critics.

Shuvo next starred in Debashish Biswas' Bhalobasha Zindabad alongside Airin Sultana, the film's commercial success earned Arifin Shuvo many appreciation from critics.
2014–present

In 2014, Arifin Shuvo was first seen in Iftakar Chowdhury's action thriller Agnee, alongside Mahiya Mahi, the film was a huge success and later went to become the highest grossing Bangladeshi film of 2014, however, Shuvoo's performance earned him many appreciation, especially from the audiences. He next started in MM Kamal Raj's Taarkata, Critics opinion on the film was mixed to negative and received a mixed reaction from audience. The film was a commercial failure. His next project, Ashiqur Rahman's Kistimaat,Co-starting Achol, where he plays the role of a cop was a huge success at box office and was critically a success. The film was one of the highest-grossing films of 2014.

In 2015, He started in Shihab Shaheen's romantic drama film Chuye Dile Mon, alongside Zakia Bari Momo, the film and his performance was highly appreciated by both Critics and Audience. He film was a huge success commercially. The film received 3.5/5 from bioscopeblog and was given 8.8/10 rating on IMDB. The film was also a huge success abroad. He next went on starting in Shafi Uddin's Warning alongside Mahiya Mahi. The film was a moderate success commercially. He is currently working multiple projects with Ashiqur Rahman's Musafir awaiting release. The Ostitto is another hit movie of Arifin Shuvo, which released on the first week of May, 2016.
