Early life and education

Ajeesh Paadal Pirantha Kadhai Ajeesh Ashok Playback Singer

Ajesh was born in a middle-class family, learnt Carnatic music from his childhood and started exploring other forms of music later. He did his schooling in Sri Krishnaswamy Matriculation Higher Secondary School, K.K.Nagar, Chennai, then went on to get a Visual Communication degree from Loyola College, Chennai.

As a Singer

Ajesh started singing stage shows, TV shows and concerts at a very young age and was very focused on pursuing music throughout. In 2009, he was crowned as the winner of the reality based singing competition Airtel Super Singer, he was chosen by public through public voting and also by composer Yuvan Shankar Raja. Later in 2010, Yuvan made Ajesh sing the romantic number Idhu Varai for the soundtrack of the Tamil movie, Goa, which was his debut song in films.

As a Composer

In June 2013, he released an independent music album titled, Rain, College, Love - The Connect. He was then asked to compose for movies, but he was reluctant at first, he says it was because of the background score and he had no experience in it back then. Then he started working on short films and documentaries, which gave him a lot of confidence to score for movies. Meanwhile, in 2015, he composed the title track for Kerala Blasters FC which was well received by the public. He debuted as a composer in Indian Cinema with the Tamil film Paambhu Sattai, the audio rights was bought by Think Music India and the album was released on 11 November 2016.
