The victims were identified as co-pilot Santosh Rana and pilot Dinesh Neupane. Santosh Rana was the son of Nepal's Minister of Land Reform and Management, CPN-UML central leader, and lawmaker Dal Bahadur Rana.

Investigation

Initial reports indicate that the crew were trying to make an emergency landing due to a technical problem. The aircraft attempted to land on a farmer’s field near the top of a mountain, but the forward fuselage was reported to have been crushed.
