Eponymous
The eponymous of the school became Árpád vezér, who was a prominent figure in Hungarian history at the end of the ninth century as led the Settlement of the Magyars in Hungary. The school's coat of arms recalls the atmosphere of this period, which is a puck of tress from the era of the Settlement of the Magyars in Hungary; shows the tree of life. This tree of life symbolizes the tight and unbreakable relation between past and future, tradition and modernity.

One of the youngest secondary educational institution is the Árpád Vezér Grammar School in Sárospatak, North-East Hungary. The educational work started in 1993 in the building, which was designed by Imre Makovecz.
