One of their most famous rugby tactics is the "cross cross apple sauce!" It involves several scissor moves with the duck and under technique. One of their past referees by the name of "Stew" once gave a try when the opposing player put the ball down 8 meters from the try line... one of the players was heard quoting a phrase when going to the teams rival town saying "wow abercrave, they've got electric and everything!"
The club was established in 1890.
