William S. "Bill" Tornabene is an American football player and coach in the United States.

Playing career

Tornabene played center for the Virginia Military Institute Keydets football program. He played at VMI from 1961 to 1963 and was co-captain his senior year. This would have included the 1963 Oyster Bowl loss against Navy.

Coaching career

Tornabene was the head college football coach for the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets located in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania. He held that position for 4 seasons, from 1983 until 1986. His coaching record at Waynesburg was 16 wins, 21 losses and 1 tie.As of the conclusion of the 2010 season, this ranks him #13 at Waynesburg in total wins and #16 at the school in winning percentage (.434).

Tornabene had previously served several terms in the assistant coaching staff at Waynesberg, including a term under future Miami Dolphins assistant coach Moe Scarry. He also was an assistant coach at VMI and head coach at Peters Township High School in McMurray, Pennsylvania.
