William H. "Bill" Pownall is an American politician and a Republican member of the Wyoming House of Representatives representing District 52 since January 5, 2015. Prior to his service in the House, Pownall was the Campbell County Sheriff between 2005 and 2015.

2014

Pownall challenged incumbent Republican Representative Troy Mader in the Republican primary. Mader, who had been appointed to the seat after Representative Sue Wallis died, ran for a full term. Pownall defeated Mader in the primary, 61% to 39%. He then won the general election unopposed.

2016

Pownall is running for re-election, and will face Nicholas DeLaat in the Republican primary.
