Initially a student at University of Southern California, she transferred to University of Virginia where she was a pre-med student with a BS in Exercise Science. She was honored as an All-American in Volleyball.

After graduation she began a career in television journalism at a Fox affiliate. Casey later worked for NBC in Miami and CBS in New York. From there she caught the eye of the national news media moving onto CNN where she covered some of the biggest stories of the decade. She eventually landed at ABC News in New York City where, as an anchor, she read news breaks and hosted and produced "Politics Live." While still working for ABC, she later wrote a column called "Whitticisms."

With an eye toward leading a team Casey moved to Houston, Texas to lead the CBS show "Great Day Houston." In addition to hosting the show she managed a team of producers, bookers, reporters and editors.

Appearances over the years include NBC’s Today Show, the CBS Early Show, CBS News, ABC News, CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, ESPN, Extra, VH1, MTV and Better. She also served as spokesperson for Match.com.

Throughout her career, she has had the opportunity to interview George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Steve Jobs, King Abdullah II, Tom Hanks, John Travolta, Roger Waters, Peyton Manning, Paris Hilton, and P. Diddy. She has also lectured at a number of colleges and universities across the US.

During her time as a journalist, she has covered many breaking news stories such as: the September 11th terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, the Space Shuttle Columbia tragedy, the crash of American Airlines Flight 587, Anthrax Investigations, Elian Gonzalez's custody battle, and Florida's 2000 Presidential Election recounts. She was also brought in to cover the Emmy, Grammy, and Tony Award shows.

In 2004, Casey was invited to lead a panel of the world's top media leaders in an international debate on media ethics. The debate was help in Monte Carlo. She also helped create the Forum of Young Global Leaders in Geneva, Switzerland. Casey attended the Forum's Arab Summit in Jordan where she was responsible for working closely with King Abdullah and Queen Rania.

She is currently married to Nav Sooch. She was previously married to former football player Jason Sehorn.
