What Do Kids Know? Is a brand new family entertainment show exclusive to Watch, where celebrities and children celebrate the humour and bewilderment of Britain's generation gap. Hosted by Rufus Hound with resident team captains Joe Swash and Sara Cox. It has similarities to Small Talk. The show takes advantage of the communication gap between kids and adults often with hilarious outcomes.

Teams

The teams consists of two members an adult, who is also the team captain and a child, aged 7–12. This often causes crossed wires and much hilarity. The two resident team captains are Joe Swash (Team Swash) and Sara Cox (Team Coxy) who are joined by a celebrity guest captain. This team is known as the name of the celebrity guest captain of that week or an affectionate nickname.

Episodes

Episodes are doubled up and shown Sunday 5:00pm exclusively on Watch. This original broadcast is 40 minutes long (80 minutes together) with a condensed 30 minutes (60 minutes together) repeat.

Rounds

The show consists of three rounds designed to unravel what goes on in kids minds.

Round 1 The teams choose a child on the screen who will describe someone or something via a pre-recorded film. It is up to the teams to work out what is being described, although the audience is made aware of what is being described due to a caption at the bottom of the screen.

Round 2 This round varies but comes in the form of a physical challenge. E.g., the kids had to paint How Clean is Your House? star Kim Woodburn, or guess the songs performed by the What Do Kids Know? mini maestros

Round 3 The teams are watch a VT of multiple kids talking about one thing some say it right others don't. This round is excluded from the 30-minute repeat.

Round 4 With 60 seconds on the clock each team member must describe to their teammate alternately someone or something that's on their card without using the words of said someone or something. For example, TARDIS, they must say it is Doctor Who's time machine and not it is TARDIS. Again the audience is made aware of what is being described due to a caption at the bottom of the screen.

The rules are quite relaxed as it is a kids game show.

Game

Viewers have the chance to play the online version of What Do Kids Know? in the What Do Kids Know? game. The player will be asked a randomly selected set of ten questions. Questions fall within one of three categories which are positioned around the wheel. Green = an image question, blue = a text question, pink = a video question. When the question appears, a timer will count down. The players aim is to answer the question correctly in the shortest time possible – the quicker they answer, the more points they get. If the player answer is incorrect, or the timer hits zero, they don’t receive any points. After answering the ten questions, the player can choose to have a lucky spin where they can gamble their points – they could get loads more points, or lose them all! If, at the end of the game, your score is high enough players have the chance to add their nickname to the Top 20 Scoreboard.

Competition

During series 1 to celebrate the launch of the show, Watch teamed up with Smyths Toys Superstores to offer one lucky family of four a fantastic, fun, weekend in Paris. Five runners up prizes were a Crayola quick flip 2-sided easel. The competition closed on 11 February 2010.
