  • Retained - The RDS is when firefighters have other jobs and don't stay in station and get called in by pager to the station.
  • Day Manned - The day manned system is when firefighters are in the station in the day but not the night
  • Wholetime - Wholetime is when firefighters are at the station 24/7 and run on watches which change every 48 hours
  • Cross Crewed - Cross Crewed means that if the station has a specialised appliance'(s) this means that the crew on duty can crew the normal appliances and special ones if they have no dedicated crew.
