History
WFCJ first signed on in January 1961. According to its website, WFCJ is the second Christian radio station to go on the air in Ohio and the first in the Dayton area. The organizers originally sought an AM license but had to settle for an FM outlet, not realizing that in a few decades, most radio listening would be on the FM dial. Clair Miller served as General Manager 1980-2011. For more than 20 consecutive years, WFCJ was home to the same weekday hosts: Mike Hill midnight-6 AM; Bill Nance (1989-2011) and co-host Melody Morris (1999-2011) 6-9 AM; Jim Williams (1979-2015) middays; Stan Ellingson (1986-2014) 3-6 PM and Robin Walton (1988-present) 6 PM - midnight. Both WFCJ and WEEC make up Strong Tower Christian Media.... formed on February 13, 2008. Bill Nance and Melody Morris (6-9 AM weekdays) formed Faith and Friends Radio (www.FaithandFriendsRadio.com) in Dayton, OH featuring current and classic Christian hits in 2011 and Stan Ellingson (3-6 PM weekdays) joined them in 2014, becoming the first internet-based radio station in the nation on iHeartRadio. WFCJ (Miamisburg, OH) and WEEC (Springfield, OH) put their buildings up for sale and merged into one building owned by Athletes in Action in Xenia, OH.
