Chess career
In 1988, he tied for 13-14th in Kharkov (UKR-ch).
Golod was Ukrainian Champion in 1991. He then moved to Israel.
In 2002, he tied for 6-8th in Tel Aviv (ISR-ch; Ilya Smirin, Boris Avrukh, and Zvulun Gofshtein won).
In 2004, he tied for 1st-2nd with Sergei Erenburg in Ramat Aviv (ISR-ch). He also won in Santa Monica.
In 2005, he took 7th in Montreal (Victor Mikhalevski won).
In 2006, he won in Schaumburg (GM-B section), and shared 3rd at the Monarch Isle of Man International (behind Alexander Areshchenko and Segey Volkov).
In 2007, he tied for 1st-6th with Mateusz Bartel, Zahar Efimenko, Yuri Yakovich, Michael Roiz and Mikhail Kobalia in the 16th Monarch Assurance Isle of Man International tournament.
In 2010, he tied for 1st-4th with grandmasters Maxim Turov, Sergei Zhigalko and Rinat Jumabayev in the IV International Georgy Agzamov Memorial.
In 2010, he tied for 1st-7th with grandmasters Alexander Riazantsev, Nadezhda Kosintseva, Leonid Kritz, Sébastien Feller, Christian Bauer, Sébastien Mazé in the 43rd Biel MTO.
