Vishnu Savara (born June 1, 1950) is a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party, an Indian political party. He is the son of Smt. Savara and Shri. Ravi Savara, who belong to a family of farmers residing at Village-Galtare, Wada, an area under the Palghar district. He is a Cabinet Minister for Tribal Development in Government of Maharashtra, and was elected to Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from Wada (ST) constituency in 1990, 1995, 1999, and 2004. In 2009, after delimitation, he contested the assembly election from Bhiwandi Rural (Vidhan Sabha constituency) (ST) reservation and won. In the 2014 assembly election, he contested from Vikramgad (Vidhan Sabha constituency) seat and won.
Early life and education
Savara completed his bachelor's degree in commerce (B.Com) in 1973, after which he started his career as a senior cashier in Dairy Project Dapchari-Dahanu (1973 – 1976).
In 1976, he was selected for the SBI through a competitive exam and was posted at Boisar, Talasari (1976 – 1980).
Since starting at the university he has been an active member of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh where he began as an ordinary worker.In 1980, he left his existing job with SBI and started as a full-time employee of BJP.In 1980, he was first named as candidate from 59-Wada assembly constituency (Now 134- Bhiwandi Rural (Vidhan Sabha constituency)) for the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from the BJP.In Maharashtra Assembly Election – 1990, 1995, 1999, 2004, 2009 and 2014, he was elected as a Member of Legislative Assembly, from 59-Wada assembly constituency (Now 134- Bhiwandi Rural (Vidhan Sabha constituency)) for consecutive five terms viz in 1990,1995,1999, 2004, 2009 & in 2014 from Vikramgad (Vidhan Sabha constituency)).On several occasions, Savara defeated his opponent by a margin of more than 45% of total votes.1990 - 2014 : Elected to Maharashtra Legislative Assembly (Consecutive Six times).1999 : Cabinet Minister for Tribal development in Maharashtra State Government.From 2014 acting as Cabinet Minister for Tribal development in Maharashtra State Government.From 2014 acting as Guardian minister of Palghar districtChairman – Arvind Smruti, (successfully running three residential schools viz.
